Perfectionism Therapy for High-Achieving Women
EleVolve helps high achievers who never feel like it’s enough, no matter how much they do, untangle their worth from their output and feel proud of the woman behind the achievements.
Perfectionism, When Nothing You Do Feels Like Enough
So many high-achieving women live with perfectionism. And from the outside, it rarely looks like a problem. It looks like excellence, reliability, being the one who never drops the ball. But when the bar rises every time you clear it, achievement stops feeling like success and starts feeling like survival.
So even when you deliver the results, the reviews, and the promotions, it still feels off. Because underneath them is a rule you never agreed to: it only counts if it’s flawless, and you’re only safe if you never slip.
You're probably the woman who:Appears effortlessly put together, while holding herself to standards no one else can see
Hits the goal she swore would be enough, and moves the finish line by Monday
Over-prepares for everything, because one mistake feels like it would undo all of it
Rereads the email five times before sending, then thinks about it again at dinner
Can’t rest without guilt, because stopping feels like falling behind
Sound familiar?
This is what happens when your worth gets tied to your standards. Being flawless becomes a full-time job, and you’re never allowed to clock out.

“Elevolve is a welcoming space where women can come to heal and find themselves again. Dayna is super experienced and truly has a gift for exceptional care for her clients. Highly recommend!”
Most advice tells you to lower the bar. Be kinder to yourself. Let go of perfect. Repeat the affirmation. And you’ve tried.
You’ve done the mindset work, and the pressure still hasn’t let up. That’s because your standards were never the problem. Neither is your drive.
The problem is the belief underneath them: that you’re only as good as your last flawless performance. Worth isn’t earned through perfect, no matter how well you execute.
The EleVolve℠ Difference: Therapy That Untangles Your Worth from Your Output
For High-Achieving Women, From Someone Who Truly Sees You
Here, you’ll never be asked to shrink, to lower the bar, or to want less. EleVolve was built for the woman who looks like she has it all together and is exhausted from holding that line alone. We help you identify where perfectionism is running the show, what it’s costing you, and what it’s been trying to protect you from. Then we trace it back to its root, the belief that being flawless is what keeps you safe, loved, and worthy. Then we challenge that belief and help you build a new one, truer and more helpful.
We blend evidence-based methods, CBT, DBT, and somatic work, with intuitive insight, so the change reaches your nervous system, not only the affirmation Post-its on your monitor. You’ll learn to send it without the fifth reread, to rest without earning it first, and to feel, in your body, that your worth was never riding on a flawless performance. Because you were never meant to perform your way to worthiness. You were meant to build from it.
Evidence-Based + Intuitive
This isn’t surface-level reassurance. We work with your mind, body, and nervous system, blending proven methods with intuitive insight, so the shift is real and it lasts.
Rooted in Worth, Not Output
You’ll gain tools for the moments that matter. So you can send the work after one read, not five. So feedback lands as information, not a verdict on you. So you rest and trust you’re still enough. Worth you can feel, and not only recite.

Questions Ambitious Women Ask Before Investing in Themselves, and Perfectionism Therapy
-
It looks like a real conversation with a clinician who understands high-achieving women. We see the you underneath the standards, and the fear underneath the rereading, the overpreparing, and the goalposts that keep moving. Together we trace where the belief that you have to be flawless began, name the patterns keeping it alive, and rebuild your sense of worth from the inside. We blend evidence-based methods with somatic and intuitive work, so the change reaches how you feel, and not only how you think.
-
Perfectionism is not a formal clinical diagnosis. But it is one of the most common patterns we see in ambitious women, and it often shows up with anxiety, people-pleasing, and burnout. You do not need a label to deserve support for it. In fact, at EleVolve, we don’t believe in labels (except “I am awesome”). But sometimes naming the pattern is what helps you finally change it.
-
Because it got rewarded. Perfectionism earns the grades, the promotions, the praise, and the reputation for never dropping the ball, so the bar climbs every time you clear it. Here is the part nobody names: excellence and perfectionism are not the same thing. Excellence is a standard you set. Perfectionism is a standard that sets you, and it charges you rest, joy, and any chance of enjoying what you built. Healthy ambition lives in excellence. That is the version we help you keep.
-
Your ambition, care, and high standards are real strengths, and therapy will not take them from you. Perfectionism is different. Ambition moves toward what you want. Perfectionism runs from what you fear. When the fear loosens its grip, most women find they don’t do less. They do it with more focus, more ease, and far less 2am replaying.
-
You will never hear that here. The work is not lowering your standards, it is aiming them at what you actually want instead of at what you were handed. Standards that belong to you feel like direction. Standards that belong to everyone else feel like a debt. We sort out which is which, and we build the skills to steady you when something does not go the way you planned, because it will, and that cannot be the thing that decides your worth.
-
Every woman is different. Many begin to feel relief within the first several sessions, as the patterns become clear and less personal. Deeper change, the kind where you send it after one read and rest on a Sunday without earning it first, builds over time and with intentional practice.
-
We blend CBT, DBT, and TF-CBT with mindfulness, somatic tools, and intuitive insight. The mix is tailored to you, because a woman untangling worth from output needs more than worksheets.
-
Yes. Work is often where perfectionism is loudest, in the deck you rebuilt four times, the email you drafted and redrafted, the feedback you replayed all weekend. We give you tools for those exact moments, and we address the root, so the standards stop running the show.
-
You do not stop it by trying harder, which is the strategy that got you here. Perfectionism loosens when the fear underneath it does. In therapy we find where the rule started, test it against what is true now, and practice the moments that scare you most, sending the work after one read, saying no, resting before it is earned. The habit changes because the belief driving it does.
-
This question is the pattern, and it is welcome here. There is no performance to give, no homework to ace, and no way to get it wrong. You do not have to arrive articulate or prepared. Showing up as you are, messy middle and all, is the work.
-
Both. We meet clients in person at our Stamford, CT office, by appointment in Greenwich, Westport, New Canaan, Fairfield, and virtually across NY, NJ, CT, MA, and FL.
-
A life that looks good and feels unfulfilling is one of the most common reasons women come to us. You do not have to wait for things to fall apart to deserve support. Feeling at home in your own success is reason enough.
-
High standards are about the work. Perfectionism is about you. With high standards, a miss is information. You adjust and move on. With perfectionism, a miss is a verdict on who you are. High standards are a bar you set and can move. Perfectionism is a bar that moves on its own, always sitting a little past wherever you are. High standards leave room for rest. Perfectionism does not.
-
They travel together more often than not. Perfectionism is often how anxiety protects itself. If everything is flawless, nothing can go wrong and no one can be disappointed in you. That is why it gets loudest right when the stakes rise. Treating one usually eases the other, which is why we work with your nervous system and not only your thinking, and why perfectionism and anxiety therapy overlap so much here.

“Type A” is shorthand. It started in 1950s heart research and became a label people give themselves to mean driven, organized, a little intense. It describes a style.
Perfectionism is more specific. It has two parts: a standard set very high, and what happens inside you when you miss it. The second part is the one that matters. Ambition sets the bar. Perfectionism charges you for the gap.
So you can be Type A and not a perfectionist. You can also be a perfectionist and not look Type A at all, holding an impossible bar in private while seeming relaxed about everything. The question is not how driven you are. It is what missing costs you.
